Sun deployed products from the Sun identity management portfolio to address Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, specifically with regard to reducing excessive access and enforcing segregation of duties among end users. The goal was threefold: prevent conflicts of interest, protect the security and privacy of sensitive application information, and maintain the integrity of transactions.
Today, this identity management deployment enables Sun to manage 50,000 user identities in 160 countries and plays an important role in Sun’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. In addition, the deployment successfully addresses costly inefficiency issues associated with provisioning resources for Sun users.
