A special feature of the Computer Professionals Program is a one-week workshop on how to successfully search for a job in the USA. The workshop improves the students' skills needed to sell themselves when seeking employment for their practical training position.

The workshop includes sessions on goal setting, understanding U.S. employers, networking, and resume writing. Students participate in mock interviews with actual employers as part of the training.

“I started the workshop with the feeling that I would be killing time, since I could search for more jobs instead of attending the workshop,” said Kishor Sigdel of Nepal. “But after the second day I realized that there are many things I could do to be more prepared before the interview and even more for finding the companies, making networks, and dealing with new people. I really appreciated the lessons, suggestions, and the practice interviews.”

Kishor received a job offer three days after completing the workshop. “The workshop gave me more self-confidence and helped me become capable of presenting my skills, strengths, and enthusiasm very clearly and firmly,” Kishor explained.
