85 students joined the Computer professionals program in February from the following countries: Cambodia, Cameroon, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, and Viet Nam.

According to John Revolinski, Director of Recruiting, “Interest in our program is very high because the word is getting out that we offer an excellent academic program with generous financial aid. Since our students work for two years at a U.S. company, they gain real world experience. And the U.S. job market is so favorable for IT professionals, finding a practical training job is easy.”

Greg Clarke-Johnsen, director of Computer Professionals Admissions, reports that the department received between 4,500 and 5,000 applications since last August. Of those, 175 were accepted. And of that group, 89 received visas, six of whom weren’t able to make it and will likely enroll in the fall. “We were please to see over 50% visa approval rate,” he said.

Mr. Clarke-Johnsen attributes the overall greater success to an improved Internet application process and improved efficiency of the office. “We have a great team, and they really worked as a unit.”
