Computer Professionals Program - Master of Science in Computer Science
Computer Professionals Program student Ephrem Woldesemaite was hired by Microsoft recently after a video teleconference interview at the University. Ephrem joins 18 fellow students who have been placed at Microsoft for their curricular practical training.
Ephrem was connected to a manager at Microsoft through the University’s Polycom video conferencing system, which is identical to the system used at Microsoft. His 90-minute interview included solving problems on a white board.
“Teleconferencing can be an advantage for the students,” explains University placement specialist Don Chell. “Microsoft has been very impressed with the high caliber of our students. The video interviews save a lot of expense and time, and allow more students to be interviewed.”
Mr. Chell anticipates that many future opportunities will be available at Microsoft. “Our students are in demand. They are finding IT jobs all over the country much more quickly than ever,” he reports.
