Intel® PSM Software Overview
Intel® Persistent Storage Manager (Intel® PSM) software is an enhancement to the Microsoft* Windows* CE operating systems. PSM software simplifies design by combining multiple nonvolatile memory functions into a single memory device.
PSM software eliminates many of the basic and tedious tasks often associated with optimizing flash memory in a system design.
PSM software is an Intel® Flash File manager and media manager that enables the following in one or more Intel® flash memory devices:
- Code execution (boot and Windows CE image).
- Persistent file storage (data, files programs, and so on) that does not lose data if power is lost.
- Registry back-up (as of Windows CE 2.11 and later), using either Registry Hive (recommended) or older OEM Registry Services.
