Intel NOR Flash Memory: Smart Choice for Cellular Handsets

Leading Supplier of NOR Flash Memory

Cameras, color screens, web browsing and video are just a few of the media-rich features being designed into today’s cellular handsets. With these features comes the demand for higher memory and processor performance, extended battery life, and fast time-tomarket for cellular OEMs.

As the world’s leading supplier of NOR flash memory, Intel delivers the most comprehensive portfolio of cost-effective, high performance NOR flash memory products. Combined with Intel’s innovative packaging and feature-rich flash management software, OEMs can enjoy the time-to-market (TTM) benefits that result from having a complete solution to meet everchanging requirements.

Multi-Level Cell: A Competitive Advantage

Intel StrataFlash® Memory delivers today’s best value in NOR flash memory. The growing need to deliver media-rich handsets while keeping costs low means OEMs must find higher density solutions at the optimal price. Intel’s industry-leading sixth generation Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NOR technology delivers on both accounts. By storing 2 bits of information in the same space that traditional NOR stores 1 bit, Intel is able to cost-effectively double the density with approximately the same die size. MLC technology provides over 50 percent more die per wafer for a given process generation without migrating to a new lithography.
