Intel® Persistent Storage Manager (Intel® PSM) software simplifies design by combining all nonvolatile memory functions into a single chip.

The solution enables the combination of executable code, registry back-up, and file storage in a single Intel® Flash Memory. This optimization reduces power consumption, component count, inventory costs, board costs, and manufacturing costs. At the same time, it delivers increased system reliability and valuable user storage, while opening new application possibilities.

Many systems using the Microsoft Windows* CE Operating System (OS) need to store both code and data. Traditionally, only executable code was stored in linear flash. Data was stored in battery backed RAM or disk emulation flash products. By integrating both executable code and file storage functions into a single flash chip, Intel® PSM simplifies system design.
