Challenge

Lizard Interactive, a leading video game developer in Korea, faced significant setbacks during beta testing of its latest Web-based, massive multiplayer game, Chundo Online. Conducted in a non-Intel architecture-based 1U/2U server environment, the game locked up and the servers crashed in each of the initial tests.

To enable adequate game performance and sustain thousands of online game players simultaneously, Lizard Interactive needed a cutting-edge server environment with unmatched processing capability. Memory support, message queuing, thread synchronization, system responsiveness and redundancy were all key factors in the performance and reliability of game service.

Lizard Interactive’s critical challenge was implementing a server environment that would excel in each of these areas to ensure Chundo Online’s game service would remain stable once released to the mass populace.
