Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MoE) is working in a joint effort with several government agencies, on a WLAN Cross-Campus Roaming project to bring real technology benefits to the learning community. The project is led by the National Science and Technology Program for Telecommunications (NTP) office. This initiative also involves universities under the MoE, and its objective is to enable seamless roaming networks for learning amongst member universities. This provides the basis for transforming the teaching and learning experience, and increase Taiwan’s future competitiveness by enabling better infrastructure for education.

Intel helps drive wireless

The increasing affordability of technology and the ubiquitous presence of the Internet are driving changes in how business and education are being conducted. Taiwan’s MoE realizes the impact these changes can have when students and faculty are given tangible incentives to embrace wireless technologies. This will change the teaching and learning methods—from passive to interactive, from one-way communication to collaboration. The WLAN Cross-Campus Roaming project delivers connected campuses that open up learning opportunities for both faculty and students. Intel is contributing industry expertise and consultation to this major project through the Intel® Mobile Initiative for Learning in Education program.
