Animation Department of CCTV Accelerates Content Creation on Intel® Platforms

China Central Television (CCTV) increases efficiency of animation production with Intel® platforms running Red Hat Enterprise Linux* operating system (OS)
Animation as an art form has been in China since the 1920s. Nearly 90 years later, a large population, including some 200 million teenagers, is still fascinated with animated content. To satisfy these audience demands, the Animation Department of CCTV, the national television station of the People's Republic of China, produces about 2,000 minutes of animated content each year.

Challenge

• Stable platform. The Animation Department of China Central Television needs a reliable, high-performance collaborative platform, to ensure the stable operations of their computers during the animation production process.
• Increased computational requirements. By offering both 2D and 3D content, the Animation Department of CCTV needs high performing computers to keep pace with production demands.
