Welcome to the Intel® Software Dispatch Subscription Program
The direction of processor technology is clear: by the close of 2007, the vast majority of computers sold will contain dual-core or quad-core processors. Looking beyond dual-core processing, Intel® processor designs that range from four to eight to 16 cores are rapidly moving from the drawing board to real-world implementations.
Where will the next generation of system architects, software engineers, and application developers gain the skills and knowledge to master multi-core concepts and create groundbreaking multi-threaded programs? Educators and trainers need look no further than several new Intel® programs designed to equip university students and software engineers with a thorough understanding of Intel® multi-core processor architectures and the increasing importance of parallelism to system operation and performance. Intel education and training programs are creating windows of opportunity throughout the technology world and planting seeds for future programming excellence.
To build on the momentum of industry transition to multi-core processing and to help educate the next generation of developers to the benefits of parallelism, the Intel® Higher
Education Program and Intel® Software College initiated the Intel® multi-core university effort. The new initiative provides funding, technical expertise, educational materials, development tools, onsite training, and other resources to 45 of the world’s top universities and anticipates over 600 participants in 2007. Stateside participants include Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington.
