EnterpriseDB Also Achieves Novell YES Certification for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and Open Enterprise Server

EnterpriseDB, the world’s leading enterprise-class, open source database company, announced today at the Novell BrainShare 2006 conference that EnterpriseDB has been selected by Novell as one of five new companies added to the Market Start program. The Novell Market Start program connects Novell customers to certified applications from proven commercial open source and Linux-based software vendors. EnterpriseDB also announced that EnterpriseDB Advanced Server has achieved Novell YES certification for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and Open Enterprise Server. Novell YES-certified solutions have met stringent certification requirements and demonstrate the highest level of compatibility with Novell products. EnterpriseDB joined the Market Start program along with four other open source leaders: Alfresco, Blackduck, Spike Source, and Novacoast. Launched in 2005 to promote innovation and to accelerate open source adoption worldwide, Market Start gives enterprise open source companies such as EnterpriseDB access to Novell’s global sales and marketing channels to bring their solutions to the marketplace. As part of the newly expanded program, EnterpriseDB will also have access to Novell’s network of more than 1,000 training partners worldwide. Novell will also cooperate with EnterpriseDB and other Market Start partners to deliver instructor-led and kit-based training on open source software solutions. As a result, customers will have new, cost-effective, fully supported open source options for meeting their infrastructure and applications needs.
