The database server is the core of EnterpriseDB Advanced Server 8.1. We’ve added our commercially developed enhancements to the core PostgreSQL platform to create a full-featured, enterprise-class relational database with the reliability, compatibility, scalability, and security you require.

Enterprise Compatibility

Our Oracle compatibility features include:

• PL/SQL stored procedures support, including OUT and INOUT parameters
• User-defined functions
• Ability to easily re-use existing stored procedures, triggers, and functions with few or no code changes
• SQL syntax, such as (+) for outer joins
• Data types, such as varchar2 and number
• Built-in functions, such as sysdate and to_char
• System Schema, with views such as ALL_TABLES and ALL_TAB_COLUMNS
